If you want to step into the past; Fort Edmonton Park is a large living history museum that recognizes Edmonton's past through a series of interactive restorations ! but if you would rather get away from the city and go on a short road trip check out Elk Island National Park, it is a pristine oasis of aspen parkland, less than an hour from Edmonton where you can follow self-guided trails to view free-roaming herds of bison, moose, elk, and 250 species of birds.
